Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:1-2)
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your faithful love and your Holy Spirit. We are not alone but have a Comforter who renews and sanctifies us. You provided a way for us to be forgiven and redeemed by Christ and to walk in holiness here on earth. Touch my mind, heart, and mouth, Lord. Sanctify me and teach me to walk in and through your Spirit. Then use me as a light so that others may see the freedom that comes through Christ.
Pour your love for others into me. When I am busy, distracted, or tired, compel me to find rest and peace in you. Then send me on a mission to love those around me. Help me to be intentional about loving others. Teach me what it means to carry another’s burdens, and then help me walk faithfully in this command. Remind me to be gracious and gentle with those in sin, loving them as you love me. Forgive me for the times when I have been judgmental, prideful, uncaring, or self-absorbed. Please help me to be known for loving like you.
