Daily Hope & a Prayer – May 5

“Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?” Simon replied, “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt forgiven.” “You have judged correctly,” Jesus said. Luke 7:41-43 (NIV)

Dear Father,

Thank you for loving me more than I could ever fully comprehend. As I journey through life I learn more and more that I can trust you. You have proven faithful and true. Thank you for your grace and goodness.

Lord, I owe you a debt that I could never repay. You have forgiven sins that I am too ashamed to even speak of. You love me in spite of my failings, stubbornness and rebelliousness. You choose me in spite of my past.

Forgive me for taking your love for granted. Give me the desire to submit my life to you, fully. Help me to understand the great price that was paid for my freedom. Place within me a heart of gratitude and thankfulness. Help me to love you more each day.

In Jesus name I pray this. I love you.
