Daily Hope & a Prayer – May 26

Post this at all the intersections, dear friends: Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn’t grow from human anger. So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.  James 1:19 MSG

Dear Father,

Thank you for the example of patient love shown through the love that you demonstrate toward me. Help me to remember that if I desire mercy and forgiveness I am responsible to demonstrate it toward others.

Help me to speak less and listen more. Teach me to learn to control and restrain my tongue. Help me to endeavor to grow in the fruit of self-control, and to demonstrate it at every available opportunity.

Teach me to resist sinning while angry. Help me to use my tongue to edify and strengthen others. Fill me with a spirit of humility.

Cultivate love and peace in my heart and through my life, and fill me with a hunger for your Word.

In Jesus name I pray this. I love you.
