Daily Hope & a Prayer – May 19

For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning” – Psalms 30:5

Dear Father,

Thank you for your faithfulness, which has proven to be true and lasting. I am forever thankful that though I sin against you again and again, you do not remain angry with me. Instead, you have provided a way by which I may be restored to a right relationship with you. Your grace is more than I could ever earn, and immeasurable more than I deserve.

Thank you for your merciful favor, which continually amazes me.

Lord, when I face difficult and trying seasons, help me to remember that You alone are God. Help me to resist the inclination to rely on my own will, intellect or intelligence to make wise choices. Instead, teach me to submit to you daily, in order that I might be led by you completely. Help me to remember that trials and tribulations are all temporary, but my God is eternal. Help me to trust in You to bring me through my darkest hour, even when reaching the light seems impossible. Enable me to experience joy that is dependent on faith in you. Help me to remember that unlike godly joy, happiness is based on my circumstance, and then continually encourage me to strive for joy.

Change, heal, and grow me so that I might be a vessel that both embraces joy and pours it forth into the lives of others.

In Jesus name I pray this. I love you.

  1. Thanks for the reminder to submit and to trust Him no matter how dark the way looks!

That “surrender” concept is hounding me lately! Everywhere I go, someone is teaching on the topic!

Thanks for continuing the hounding! I must need it
