Daily Hope & a Prayer – April 27

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:8-10 (ESV)

Dear Father,

Thank you for a greater revelation of who You are. Thank you for giving me a desire to know You. I know that this desire is not acquired on my own, but because of your grace and by your Spirit. Thank you for the example of your Son who was pure, a peacemaker, and who was persecuted for righteousness sake.

Lord, I am unable to walk in purity of heart, as a peacemaker, or suffer persecution for righteousness sake in godliness through my own efforts. On my own, I will certainly succumb to self and fail at all three. Circumstance, desire, or emotion inevitably affect my efforts and alter my outcome. Yet, through Christ, all things are possible. Yes, I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me!

Touch my heart. Replace my self-centered heart with one that is pure in its intention to obey and honor You, and pursue your will.

Touch my mind. Fill it to overflowing with peace. Change me into someone who offers, encourages, and demonstrates peace, even when I am attacked or mistreated.

Touch my life. Lead me to a relationship with You wherein I have surrendered completely to your purpose. Teach me to live a life of submission. Fill me with a willing and joyful attitude, so that I will boldy, unashamedly, and with unfettered faith, face every trial or tribulation, according to your glorious will.

In Jesus name I pray this. I love you.
