Daily Hope & a Prayer – April 2

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,  even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved Ephesians 2:1-5 (ESV)

Dear Father,

Thank you for rescuing me from my sin, adopting me as Your Own, and transforming my life. Before You, I was trapped in self-centeredness, rebelliousness and pride. I was a prisoner to my sin, and I was blind to how desperately I needed You. But still You rescued me. You called me from my sin, forgave me, and delivered me from my pit.

Because of grace, my place at Your table had already been prepared. Because of mercy, You have chosen me, and prepare me to carry out Your will. Father, touch my heart, eyes, hands, ears, and feet so that I will walk, speak, touch, listen, see and love like You. Because You love me, You continually guide me toward You, transforming me so that I can reflect Your Son within the earth. You are truly the potter, and I am your willing clay. Thank you for lovingly molding me into a reflection of Your glory!

Help me to never become so puffed up in pride that I forget salvation is a gift of grace. Eternity was a gift that I could not earn. Keep that truth ever close in my thoughts. Take this life, and make it Yours, until I see You face to face. Help me to offer it to You, daily, as my greatest sacrifice. My life is Yours. I give it to You. Do with it all that You will.

In Jesus name I pray this. I love you.

Amen
