Daily Hope & a Prayer – April 10

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us—they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady. Then, when that happens, we are able to hold our heads high no matter what happens and know that all is well, for we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. Romans 5:3-5 (TLB)

Dear Father,

Thank you for my troubles. Through trials and tribulations, you have proven to be an ever-present help in my time of need. Yes, there have been times when the outcome of my circumstances differed from that which I desired. But, it always resulted in my good. Your faithfulness in my life is without dispute. I continue to learn that I can trust you. I have found your wisdom to be beyond compare.

Lord, strengthen me when I am weary. When the difficulties of life weigh down upon me, teach me to turn to you, and trust you to bring my situation to a right conclusion. When life seems unfair, help me to remember that you are just. When fear threatens to overtake me, teach me to choose faith. Grow my faith, that I may resist the temptation to doubt your love, power, or willingness to intervene on my behalf. Help me to rejoice in my suffering. Stretch my faith, fill me with patience, and strengthen my character. Pour unshakeable ‘hope in your love’ into me, until it overflows. Then Lord, encourage and empower me to pour hope and love into others, even those who would endeavor to cause me harm.

In Jesus name I pray this. I love you.

Amen
