Daily Hope & a Prayer – March 29

But the Lord sits enthroned forever; he has established his throne for justice, and he judges the world with righteousness; he judges the peoples with uprightness. The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. Sing praises to the Lord, who sits enthroned in Zion! Tell among the peoples his deeds! For he who avenges blood is mindful of them; he does not forget the cry of the afflicted. Psalm 9:7-12 (ESV)

Dear Father,

Thank you Lord, that You are ever mindful of me. Thank you that I matter to You, and that I can run to You in the difficult seasons of life. I praise You for Your faithfulness. My life I give to You. Use my life to magnify Your glory. Teach me to consider my role as Your ambassador through every step I take, choice I make, and word I speak.

Thank you for being a righteous God. Though You are a God of justice, You are also a God of love. Though I deserved death, You loved me so much that You sent a perfect sacrifice in the form of Your son, so that justice could be served, but I might be saved. Thank you God, for Your unequivocal love. Help me to boldly and unashamedly proclaim Your wondrous works in my life to others.

Thank you for being a safe and reliable Savior, who I can run to in my time of need. You have protected me again and again from my enemies – even when the enemy was me! When I am facing new struggles, help me to stand on the evidence of all You have accomplished in my life in the past, and remind me that I can trust You. Teach me to choose to stand on faith in Your love, rather than becoming entangled in fear. You have never abandoned me, Lord, and I believe You when You promise to never forsake me. Times may come when I feel like You have forsaken me, but when storms arise, strengthen my courage to face those seasons, trusting that You are with me, and that You have not left me alone.

When I am attacked, oppressed, or betrayed, give me a faith-filled heart that does not doubt Your protection or provision. Fill me with self-control that I will trust You to vindicate me, and keep me from attempting to vindicate myself. Place within me a forgiving spirit, so that I am not overcome with bitterness and anger. Keep me from grieving or hindering the Holy Spirit, because of my reaction to the sins of others.

In Jesus name I pray this,

Amen
