Daily Hope & a Prayer – Day 23

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:6-8 (ESV)

Dear Father,

I thank you Lord that You are faithful and true. You steadily and lovingly lead me on a path of righteousness toward an eternity of peace in Your presence. Though I may face struggles, I am certain that there is power and victory for the battles of this world, through You. Because of You, I can rejoice in the eternal. Strengthen my arms and legs for the tasks and journey ahead of me. Focus my mind and heart on the prize, which is Christ Jesus. Tame my tongue, and curtail my desire for worldly affinities, lest I be led astray by my own words and actions. Keep me from sins that enslave, such as pride, worry, bitterness, unforgiveness, spiritual complacency, rebelliousness, idolatry and selfish ambition. These not only seek to distract me, but endeavor to separate me from me from a right relationship with You in order to prevent me from producing a harvest of good fruit. And if I become distracted, convict me, and restore me to Yourself that I might finish the race that You have set before me. Remind me continually that those who love you demonstrate their love through obedience to Your will. Fill me with an ever-increasing desire to walk in obedience. Reveal to me how to walk out my faith in my home, among my family, on my job, around my friends, and within my church and community.

Thank you that nothing can separate me from Your love, and that no one can snatch me from Your hand.

In Jesus name I pray,
