Daily Hope & a Prayer – Day 13

Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Mark 4:16-17

Dear Father,

Thank you for this day! Thank you for the love and grace that You cover me with, and the mercy that has gone before me. Father, today, I would like to begin by praying for others. It is so easy to get caught up in my life, my problems, my goals, or my desires. But, you desire for me to be concerned with the interests of Christ, and to look to to the interests of others. Forgive me for being entrapped by selfish ambition and self-interest.

Throughout the world, I have brothers and sisters in Christ who love and serve you in spite of the significant danger it poses to them. Old threats to believers remain unchallenged throughout the world, and new threats grow daily. Even now, men, women and children are killed because they refuse to deny You, Lord. There are times that I struggle to find time to study or pray, but they boldly run after the right to know, love, and serve you, regardless of the cost to their welfare, financial stability or freedom. Bless my brothers and sisters in Christ who face persecution because of their commitment to You, Lord. Strengthen their families as they trust Your will and Your provision. Encourage those who are brokenhearted. May you be greatly glorified through each of their stories.

Fill the hearts of all those who serve You, with loving concern for those who are persecuted because of Your name. Give us each the desire to boldly witness to the world of Your Love. Help us to not take our freedom for granted. Grow our roots into You deeply by the Holy Spirit, and through Your word. And when it is our turn to face persecution, may we do so rejoicing and trusting in You, walking in love, and speaking of You with great boldness.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen.
