Daily Hope & Prayer – Day 1

& (2)

Balaam said, “Because you’ve been playing games with me! If I had a sword I would have killed you by now.” -Numbers 22:29 (MSG)

Dear Father,

Thank you Lord for continually leading me to truth through Your Word.  I realize and confess that I am guilty of allowing pride to stir me to anger.  In anger I have sometimes reacted in a manner that is not consistent with the holiness and godliness that you require of me. Forgive me for these reactions. Father, I submit my right to be “right” to You. Help me to love those that have caused me hurt or harm as You have loved me. Deliver me from a self-righteous spirit that encourages me to turn a blind eye to my own shortcomings and sin.  Teach me to confess where I have hurt others, and help me to seek forgiveness when appropriate, and to do so in humility.  Do not allow me to press forward into dangerous and damaging circumstances because I am short-sighted and clouded by anger.  But instead, give me discernment and wisdom to know when You are trying to turn my attention toward You. I pray that Your will would be accomplished through my life, and that You would give me the wisdom to know when to speak and when to be silent.

I ask this in Jesus name,

Amen.
