There are days when we simply need to rest  and abide in His Word, and be reminded of His love and grace, and the hope we have in Him. As the day draw nearer to the arrival of our newest bundle of joy, I am encouraged by the grace that has surrounded my journey. The circumstances surrounding this pregnancy has challenged my faith in more ways than one. Yet, in spite of multiple hospital admissions, very concerned physicians, intense physical pain due to a large amount of scar tissue, and unrelated tribulations in my personal life – God has kept me. He has demonstrated over and over again that He is faithful, and proven true that “those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to shame” (Isaiah 49:23b NASB).

Here are some scriptures regarding ‘hope’ that I would like share today. I hope they bless you like they have blessed me.

The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.– Psalm 33:17-19 (ESV)

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.Psalm 130:4-6 (ESV)

When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever-Psalm 146:4-6 (ESV)

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.-Jeremiah 29:11-12 (ESV)

My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me. But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.-Lamentations 3:21-25 (ESV)

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.-Romans 5:3-5 (ESV)

Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.-Romans 12:11-12 (ESV)

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.-Romans 15:13 (ESV)

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.– Hebrews 11:1 (ESV)
